What is Reiki?

Reiki is an alternative and complementary healing modality which has its origins in Japanese healing techniques. It is performed by a Reiki practitioner who has the ability to tap into the universal life force energy – you may call it the Divine Energy – and in turn, channel this positive healing energy to self or the client for the purpose of healing and the highest good.

This healing experience results in the holistic healing of the recipient. It heals emotionally, physically, and spiritually. During the experience, the practitioner may place their Reiki-activated hands gently on or slightly above the client’s body, in a series of positions while Reiki flows into the client’s body and becomes one with their personal energy. Advanced Reiki practitioners can share this loving, healing energy with the client in person, as well as, from a distance, This means, that the physical presence of the client is not necessary for the healing to take place, and the client can receive Reiki from the comfort of their home or anywhere else they are present at that moment.

Reiki can be shared to heal not only the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of human beings, but also with animals, plants, space, and anything which is made up of energy – and that is about everything in this world. Even inanimate objects are said to hold the energy of their owner. Hence, Reiki with its versatile nature can heal living things as well as the environment we reside in.

It is important to remember that this beautiful healing energy is the Divine Energy, and all things Divine is Love and only Love. Hence, Reiki can cause no harm and it cannot be forced onto anyone. Free will is the ultimate deciding factor of Reiki’s effectiveness as a healing modality.
